Things to do to keep your back healthy and strong:
Exercise:
Exercise regularly in such a way that there is no pressure or trembling on the back. Exercising in this way increases the strength and endurance of the back and makes the muscles work better. Good choice for walking and swimming.
Build muscle strength and mobility. Exercise the abdominal and back muscles which strengthens the core, helping these muscles to work together like a natural corset for the back.
Weight maintenance:
Excess weight puts pressure on the back muscles. This problem is caused by being overweight which can lead to back pain.
Quit smoking:
Excessive smoking increases the risk of low back pain. Smoking every day increases this risk, so quit this habit.
Avoid movements that twist or strain the back. Use the body properly:
Stand . If you have to stand for long periods of time, place your feet on a low footstool so that some weight is removed from under the back. Alternative methods help reduce stress on the muscles.
Seating rules:
Sit comfortably on the lower back, choose a seat with armrest and swivel base. It is best to keep a pillow or rolled towel in a small area of your back that can maintain normalcy. Keep knee and buttocks level normal. Change position every half hour.
Excess weight:
Avoid heavy lifting, but use your twist if you have to lift something heavy. Keep your back straight and do not twist and just bend at the knees. Find a partner if the object is heavy or awkward.
